i am and always was
I lay on the grass in front of my home, eyes filled with sky
tree branches penetrate my view
I breathe in deeply
and blow out the air I have just taken in
and made mine
my exhale is powerful; I make the trees sway with my breath
I am the wind,
mixing together green and sky
inside my house I am closed,
I am hurt
I am heavy-eyed
here I am open, arms and legs sprawled out
to let everything in
the more space I take up,
the more I am a part of
I am nothing but light; my pupils grow large as the sky pours into them
like honey,
slowly coating my irises
thick with air
I am so full of light that I float up,
And rest on top of the branches.
I am high
I am a crow searching for someone to paint her
I have black feathers black feet and black eyes
I have taken everything in, I absorb it all with my blackness
every color
The wind moves the branch I sit upon, yet I stay still.
Did I say I am everything? I am
